Angepinnt Wiimmfi Server

      @max-m:
      Yes, it should work. You can use Wireshark or Microsoft Network Monitor to capture the packets. I don't know if Wireshark will work with your USB-WiFi sticks because it doesn't for me, but Microsoft Network Monitor works fine or whatever capture software you want to use should as well.

      @Real_Yoshi:
      via LAN? All the methods I described above, have to be used in the Local Area Network (unless you use a web proxy to sniff)... Do you mean your Wii is connected to the internet via a USB LAN Adapter? If so, use Wireshark/Microsoft Network Monitor to capture the interface which used by your adapter.
      @Sepalani
      My Wii ist connected to the router direcly. But i do have a Wifi USB Stick, so i could dump infos right ?
      But how do i have to proceed (i'm not really experienced in this materia)?

      @Real_Yoshi:
      You have to create a wireless AP from your stick and instead of connecting your Wii to your router, use this AP.
      Then from the computer you use for this USB Wi-Fi stick, you can sniff the network traffic through Wireshark/Microsoft Network Monitor.

      @christian8246q:
      Windows may not be necessary, I know some Linux distributions which can handle the "master mode" (to create AP) without installing specific driver.
      Otherwise he can use ARP spoofing to redirect all the traffic to the computer then try a Man In the Middle.

      @JingleBells:
      Ok, I will write some of them this week-end then ;v).

      @Real_Yoshi:
      Does your OS have the proper drivers installed to control your WiFi stick? Can another device other than the Wii can connect to it? If so you may want to change the AP channel to 1, 6 or 11 and just to be sure try to remove the WEP/WPA protection from your stick if you set one. I know that my hacked driver for Nintendo Wifi USB Connector doesn't handle it properly. By the way the Wii doesn't support Ad-hoc network, use the Infrastructure mode (aka master mode) from your stick.

      Otherwise if you can't connect to it with any device, try to find the proper drivers or try a Linux distribution such as Ubuntu or Kali/Backtrack. You can launch them on LiveUSB/CD/DVD from your BIOS Boot menu if you don't want to install them. (If you don't know some of the words Google it, there are not hard to find/understand ;v))
      @ Sepalani
      Ok i managed to get it working!
      Now for the traffic sniff: I installed Wireshark, How should i proceed now?
      (im running a test-capture in ssbb but im not sure if its done correctly).
      When am i supposed to stop the traffic capture, because it seems endless ?

      What's wrong with my Wii now ... SSBB doesn't start using USB Loader GX, neither the original dump nor the patched one.
      Syscheck doesn't start from my SD card ... :|
      Both just show a blackscreen, reset doesn't work, the Wiimote gets disconnected.

      But the Wii Shop Channel works ...

      Edit: Now Syscheck worked ... weird.

      No, there's not. And I doubt there'll ever be because afaik, the creators of this custom server do not want to release all their software to the public. The reason is simple, the servers are designed to be hosted only once for the whole internet so having more than one server running, it would cause problems and split up the already low amount of players worldwide even more into even smaller groups.
      There is no real sense to use a LAN server anyways since even if you want to play this game local with more than 4 players, a really shitty internet connection will do just fine because there's almost no traffic at all apart from P2P which is in your LAN then anyways. I bet it would even work to just set up a wireless hotspot from your Smartphone.

      :facepalm:
      Nonsense ! Sorry but do you know what is really LAN mode ? It's not for online play, but only for local offline multiplayers (whitout internet connection). LAN players don't want online play. People are in the same place on same game together. LAN mode don't split the amount of players because it plays... offline. LAN players want to play locally with 12 players not only 4 player on a pitty split screen.

      Look at Mario Kart Double Dash, lot of fun in LAN mode. Why not make a dedicated local server for MKW to obtain the same result as Double Dash ? This photo shows how is funny to play 8 local multiplayer at MKDD.

      Well, why do you need the server software to do this? Simply open some friend rooms and join, because all Wiis are behind one router, the network traffic to the internet is very low.

      But profile are created at first client connection no ?
      The major issue in MKW there is no local multiplayer like MKDS or MKDD. When Nintendo's servers was online, there is no simple way to connect on the same IP, and impossible to play in the same place. Today, no servers, and lack of LAN mode on MKW.

      I don't understand, what is the problem with LAN play ?

      Online play = internet connection required
      LAN play = no internet connection required

      Main idea : play at 12 players locally without internet connection.

      Captured with Microsoft Network Monitor as Wireshark didn't see my virtual network adapter.

      This directory contains the *.cap file and a log, the times were roughly estimated during testing. ;)

      Real_Yoshi will post his SSBB ogs later when he is back.
