Today I found out that we might have a big problem when the WC24-Server "amw.wc24.wii.com" will also shut down on May 20th. This server is used in the first connection test after a re-initialised Wii and also when connecting with a new Wii that never connected to the Internet before.
When the Wii does not reach this server, the connection test will fail.
I think that this server is for checking if the new Wii-freind code (which gets randomly generated by the Wii) is already in use. And sadly, it uses HTTPS / SSL.
Is anyone able to patch the Wii system menu to use HTTP to connect to the "amw.wc24.wii.com"-server so we can use ToadKings Gateway to find out the protocol of this server until it'll shut down?
if we won't find out this, people who buy a Wii / WiiU after May 20 will probably be unable to use our Custom WFC!
EDIT: It did not shut down on May 20th. But it may shut down somewhen in the future when the Shop shuts down.
