How to : Play Mario Kart DS on Wiimmfi

I decided to write a tutorial how to play Mario Kart DS on Wiimmfi, this tutorial can be applied for others DS games on the future :

Method 1 : Patch your rom direcly
1) Download WFCPatcher : github.com/AdmiralCurtiss/WfcPatcher/releases and unzip it.
2) Drag-drop the Mario Kart DS rom to WfcPatcher.exe
3) A new file is created : THE ROM NAME (AltWfc).nds, put this file on your flashcard
4) Put the flashcard in your DS, launch the patched Mario Kart DS
5) Go in WFC Configuration, and set up Wiimmfi DNS : 46.4.79.141 in the connection you habitually use
6) You did it ! Your NDS is now to configured to connect on Wiimmfi with Mario Kart DS.

Method 2 : Use an action replay code
1) Use the correct Action Replay Code :

2) Go in WFC Configuration, and set up Wiimmfi DNS : 46.4.79.141 in the connection you habitually use

3) You did it ! Your NDS is now to configured to connect on Wiimmfi with Mario Kart DS.

If there are nobody online, don't leave and wait for people. The Mario Kart DS community is relatively small at the moment.
Warning : Mario Kart DS supports only WEP or Open Wifi Access Points !

In case it was not understood:

5) Set "Auto-obtain DNS" to "No" and insert 46.4.79.141 (Wiimmfi IP Address) into both Primary DNS and Secondary DNS. Save your settings and exit the menu.

Also, you can use an Android phone for wep - wifi hotspot
BTW, you *can* register your DS to Wiimmfi - it'll show as NDS.

I set up my MKDS like the tutorial said but if I try to connect to Wiimmfi the DS only says 52100. Everything is fine in the settings but what I am doing wrong?

how are you connecting to wep wifi? Android Hotspot?

@PokemonAcer My Wi-Fi security is open with MAC Filter active if I play with my DS online that must be not the problem.

ok. problem w/ that, but not w/ Wiimmfi. A MAC filter can be beaten, w/ a wifi packet sniffer someone could get your MAC and change their MAC to be the same. Also, try dmz'ing your DS?

As I said: I only have Wifi security off if I only playing DS online. After then I use WPA2 when I not play online with my DS. What do you mean by "dmz'ing your DS?"

@ArRoW in your router there should be a DMZ function

@PokemonAcer My Router (Telekom Speedport W 724 V) dosen't support DMZ, I don't have a bad connection or slow internet everything worked fine with the old Wi-Fi Connection.

I'm online in Mario Kart DS and have not had any problems to connect.

Anyway I've tried the Cheatcode too it still says 52100. Well I think I trying this later again.

@ArRoW maybe you had patched a bad rom?....

That's probably not the reason, but I googled "wiimmfi error code 52100" and this topic showed up for people that had the same error code when Nintendo WFC was up: link

the patcher should work for all online ds games(If the game is activated on wiimmfi), but I'm fairly sure Yu-Gi-Oh 5D WC 2010 is not enabled on wiimmfi yet

You would: Need to get network dumps, create a game definition file.

Edit: Though I guess a decent amount of players is needed for a game, because let's say that Yu-Gi-Oh 5D WC 2010 is enabled. Now, you are the only person online and have created the only profile for that game. You don't have anyone to play against. So... I guess you should try and find other people that like this game to help it come to Wiimmfi.

DMZ = Demilitarisierte Zone

Opens all ports for the device except if defined differently at any other setting.

Don't forget to erase your wifi configuration (to erase the WFC ID) and old Friend codes before connecting for the first time on wiimmfi. I erased the WFC ID but not the FCs, this made Mario Kart DS freeze whenever I tried to connect. There is no need to delete your game save.

I use a router with Custom Firmware (DDWRT), and created a virtual access point with WEP without changing my main access point.
