The patcher itself is now 2 years old and I never heard about this error.
So do it again in another directory and post the complete error message if it fails again.

I know this topic is a little old, and I hope I can find some advice on a similar issue. I have tried to patch MKW on Ubuntu 16.04LTS, WinXP SP3, and OSX 10.6.8 using either the .sh or .bat files respectively. I receive the same error message every time. I am wondering if perhaps I need to scrub my ISO first? The ISO was obtained directly from my MKW disc.

This is my first post and I apologize if I am breaking any rules. Any and all help would be tremendously helpful.

As a side note, is this even still worth doing? I noticed there is still a small community playing online, but I have read a lot that it is plagued by hackers. I only wish to race online. Has the abundance of hackers on the servers disrupted normal play too much?

Scrubbing is not required. The ISO you are using is corrupted, try re-dumping.

Wiimmfi is not "plagued" by hackers. Sure, considering that you need homebrew to use Wiimmfi, a greater percentage of the players knows how to cheat than on WFC, but Wiimmfi has a ban system (better than Nintendos system) to take care of that.

end of file at 0xFFFF8000 means, that the image is cut at 4GB and incomplete. So dump it again.

Thank you all so much for your helpful and swift replies. I suppose I never considered the ISO to be corrupt as it worked fine after I transferred it from my old wbfs drive to a new one (size upgrade).

I am happy to know I was misinformed about cheating, and I am looking forward to racing some of you in a week or so!
