Error 238xx : Consoles are activated 7 days after registration (for MKWii profiles only)

The situation until now:
A Dolphin player cheated and was banned. Then he creates a new generic NAND, logins in with a new console, creates a profile and cheats some minutes later again.

To get this problem under control, I have changed the console creation rules again:

If a new console is registered at Wiimmfi, the user gets a new error message:
* 23899: Console successfully registered. Wait 7 days for activation.

Trying to login and to create a new profile will result in an other 238xx error:
* 2388y: Wait y days for console activation.
* 238xx: (xx=01-79) Wait xx hours for console activation.

This is not a problem for old registered consoles. Only very few new and honest players has a disadvantage: They must wait 7 days before entering Wiimmfi. But in deed, they haven't played online 400 days before, so that 7 more days is only a small loss.

Isn't 7 days a little bit too long? I think 3-4 days would be good to prevent cheating and to don't dissapoint honest players.

IMO it is not too long as the majority of new console registrations consists of Dolphin cheaters.

Well the error page only states 23899 as the intial "console created but access denied", but not the special codes 23800 - 23880. So they'd need to look at the stats page and enable displaying the error codes. Or Wiimm puts those error codes on wiimmfi.de/error, too.

Because, for example, a person buys a new console and he wants to play online, really he has to wait one week to play?

Let us wait some weeks. In the first week is a mix between old and new rules. New consoles of the last week can use the already created profiles.

On the other side, the very rarely new players wait a little more and meets less cheaters.

Interesting, let's see how this goes. I just hope that new users won't be put off because of this.

But, well, we all have the cheaters to blame for it being necessary. Their insistence to cheat and circumvention of all bans has lead to this, and there is ultimately no way to get around this one, but at the cost of the legitimate players. It's a pity that the few ruin for the many, for sure, but yeah... something had to be done.

There is a limit on how many consoles you can create in a certain time frame.

But after the 7 days to approve of it, does the system approve or do the moderators approve of who gets to connect to the server?

I ask this because if I was a hacker (i'm not, I only report them) and you the moderators knows this, does the moderator approve/deny me to wiimmfi or does the system approve of me to connect automatically?

Which error codes can we expect when being told by the server to wait? I keep getting error 23913 when trying to get a friend code in Animal Crossing. I just barely started trying to get a code within the last two days, so I know seven days is going to be a wait... but isn't that a completely different code?

Will this affect NDS? Because wiping NWFC config to test a game on different server for packet capture then coming back onto Wiimmfi and wiping again classes as a new console...

23913 is a console limit error. Try connecting again 24 hours later. The codes for the new system are located at wiimmfi.de/error

i would say yes. Considering this system is most likely hard modded into the whole server, it may affect every game out and enabled for wiimmfi. Not saying this is true, just my thought / guess.

I personally think it does not matter if this affects DS games because very few people play NDS on Wiimmfi. My guess for that is because of the patching process(which it quite lengthy and tedious, similar to patching WiiWare games), and flashcarts are actually illegal in some countries(The only ones I know of being United Kingdom and all of Australia.)

Actually in UK it's illegal to advertise about sales, but they aren't illegal and you can also use Action Replay..

Doesn't the code Starlight provided in that thread only work on Mario Kart DS? With the patcher, it should work on all DS games.

You can use WfcReplay to generate the ds game action replay code (I prefer it over ROM patch anyways) and WfcPatcher for ROM patch.
