Recently decided to take up Mario Kart Wii again after not playing it since 2017. I learned about the Wiimmfi update, patched my .wbfs file on my USB stick and everything went smoothly. Trying to join a Worldwide Vs but it just sits there forever, searching for players. It did that for several hours yesterday before I gave up. Tried again this evening, again no luck, searching for opponents endlessly. I went online and found that there are very few Worldwide Vs or Battle rooms even active, and the few that were active all had players with much lower VR than mine (9300 VR) so I tried joining a room with one of my FCs with only about 5500 VR, within their range. Still no luck. I check the active servers on the Wiimmfi page on here, and my FC doesn't even show up in the online list even though I'm searching for opponents at this very moment. I have yet to try CGTP but I have long since forgotten how to do that.

Have I missed something? Or is this simply the new normal now?
