Not sure where to put this but this is a PSA about Wii Hardware

Hi, not sure where to put this but I have just discovered that my launch model wii had a leaking clock battery. It's completely ruined the battery connectors and started to leak out of the bottom of the system. Please be sure to change your clock battery every 2 years or so otherwise your system could end up like mine, luckily I caught it before it ate through to the motherboard.
      Hope this helps!
Note: on my system the battery slot was under a removable plate on the underside of the system

Sorry, I don't have a pic as i promptly soaked the battery in baking soda + water before throwing it in the bin. The battery that was installed in my launch model was a Maxwell CR2032. The Maxwell button cell installed in it was a lower cost alkaline cell. It might just be a rare occourance that mine has an alkaline cell instead of a lithium one considering that there is almost always little odd differences between regions. I've got a black, launch model PAL wii.
      Hope this helps!

Black models weren't sold before 2009, so that can't be a launch model, even if Nintendo did show black ones long before the launch. So yours probably has a lifetime of about 10 or 11 years (depending on when production began).

There is no such thing as a Alkaline-CR2032. Especially since a alkaline battery doesn't provide 3V but 1.5V.
