Hey everyone! I was wondering how to get onto CTWW in CTGP. I got CTGP a couple weeks ago, but I haven't been able to get online. Whenever I press Launch Game, I either get stuck on the message, "Verifying with server...", or immediately get sent to a screen that says, "Could not verify! Go to the updater to try again. Or press X or 1 to launch without CTWW." I was wondering how to fix this, as my wifi is connected and perfectly fine, and it's been happening for so long. Any help is appreciated! If it helps, I downloaded CTGP through the internet browser on the Wii U. Once again, thank you so much in advance!

Is your WiFi compatible with the Wii? Does other stuff in Wii Mode work that needs Internet?
The WiiU supports more encryption variants than the Wii, so a WiFi connection that works in WiiU mode might not necessarily work in Wii mode, too.
Make sure your WiFi is NOT using WPA2-PSK-TKIP, the Wii doesn't support that.DevkitPro Archiv (alte Versionen / old versions): wii.leseratte10.de/devkitPro/

Is WPA2-PSK-TKIP the same as WPA2 Personal? Because that's what my wifi connection is. If they are the same thing, is there anyway to bypass this? I don't have anything else on my Wii mode that needs internet, so I can't check like that. When I played back when WFC was a thing, it was a different wifi router, so I can't test based on that. Once again, thank you for the help!

WPA2 Personal is the same as WPA2-PSK, it's kinda the umbrella term for WPA2-PSK-TKIP and WPA2-PSK-AES. The Wii mode only supports the AES variant.

So then it's impossible for me to play on wiimmfi no matter what? There's no workaround at all? If there are, I would greatly appreciate learning how to do it, if not I completely understand. Thank you once again.

If your router is indeed using WPA2-PSK-TKIP and you can't change that, then you can't connect to the WiFi, yeah. If that is the case, you can either A) try to get your router to use WPA2-PSK-AES, B) get a better router, or C) use a LAN connection.

Apologies if I am kind of uninformed about all of this haha. Firstly, how do you change what your router uses? Do you need to change something in the router internally? If so, I can't do that. I can't get a different router because my current one is quite new. Also, what is a lan connection, and who do I use it? Once again, apologies for my inexperience, and thank you for all the help and time you've given me.

Yeah, the encryption that your WiFi uses is something you can usually change in the router's web interface.
For a LAN connection you would need a LAN Adapter for the WiiU, and then a LAN cable from your router to your WiiU.DevkitPro Archiv (alte Versionen / old versions): wii.leseratte10.de/devkitPro/

So where would I find the web interface? I assume it wouldn't have any risk to change? Is there anything that would help me learn what it means to change the security? Once again, I'm quite inexperienced with this kind of stuff haha

From the interface, change your current Wi-Fi network to WPA2-AES mode, or WPA2-AES/TKIP mixed mode if supported.Disclaimer: The image below is my forum signature and has no correlation to my original message or response.

When I log onto my router gateway, it says I'm connected to WPA2-PSK-AES. If this is the case shouldn't I be able to get onto Wiimmfi? Is there differentI need to be on for it to work? Since I am on the suggested wifi, is there something else wrong with my internet? As always, thank you for the time!

Update for everyone trying to help me:
I got a new sd card in hopes that it will work. I'm going to try downloading the files and seeing how it works. Have a nice day, and thank you for all the help you have all given me! -
Update, I have been trying many things with the new sd card, but still, nothing seems to be working. If there are any theories as to why this is happening, they will be graciously appreciated. Thank you once again! I hope you could help

Not sure why a new SD would help...

I hoped that it might help because the previous one was a microSDXC through an adapter, so I got a cheap card trying to see if it would solve the problem. I just was really hoping to get onto CTWWs and it's a bit sad after all the hype up being so close but without being able to haha. It's still just doing the same thing tho, so I don't know what the problem could be.

Your issue is an internet related one...

@Donut Delivery could you verify the following?:
- Double-check if your internet connection settings on the Wii are verified and working, and set DNSes to 1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1 respectively.
- Delete the CTGP channel, if it's already installed onto your system.
- Delete any CTGP related files onto your SD card, and start anew from chadsoft.co.uk/install-guide/
Tell us if you run into any errors.
EDIT: Preferably don't use an SDHC or SDXC card. It's best to use a card that is either a maximum size of 2GB, or format your card with a single FAT32 partition table as any other partition table might not work properly with homebrew softwareDisclaimer: The image below is my forum signature and has no correlation to my original message or response.
