Quake

  • Quake

    Changelog
    Rev Release 4

    New GX-accelerated builds of Q2Rev and Q2CTFRev.
Support for the official Quake and Quake II Mission Packs, now available in the Quake Rev PAK launcher.
Lots of bug fixes, including an embarrasing one where left & right sound channels were inverted (oops!)
Fixed a problem with Quake II savegame files, which were not compatible between releases. Starting from Release 4, all new savegame files will work as expected.
Also starting from this release, it will be required that the game data folders be located inside folders called "Q1" and "Q2" at the engines folder level. This will help having Quake and Quake II data separated, and thus be able to play the "rogue" Mission Packs (Dissolution of Eternity, Ground Zero).

    Rev Release 3

Classic Controller can now be used to play; controls are similar to those in use by the Gamecube Controller.
Pressing [A] to aim is now optional; a Menu Option was provided for such effect.
Bug fixes in the way the Nunchuk controller was handled, causing problems when moving on water.

    Rev Release 2

Improved Wii Remote handling. More stable, and more sensitive. A small wrist movement goes a long way. Adjust the sensitivity level with the new "Wii Remote speed" option, next to "Mouse speed" in Options in the Main Menu.
New On-Screen Keyboard, with access to most (if not all) keys of the US keyboard. Replaces the old, defective input method in use in Release 1.
Support for the standard Gamecube controller.
Switching to "big stack" in key points in the code, allow for more stable, more smooth movement in the engine.
The engine can now be started from either the SD card slot in front of the Wii, or an USB memory stick plugged in any of the USB ports in the back of the console.
Experimental, untested support for USB keyboard & mouse.

    GX 0.04 SDHC

    SDHC Support

    GX 0.04

Support for Mods and Mission Packs. Some of them may cause out of memory errors for now.
    Transparent status bar (adjustable)
    Variable 2D resolution
Weapon rotation with the Wiimote (now you can change the yaw, pitch and roll of your weapon)
A new menu for adjusting new features
    Various bugfixes

    GX 0.03

    Simple on-screen keyboard
View locking so that you can aim freely without turning
TV overscan adjustment working for the GX build
    Simple, ugly brightness control

    GX 0.02

    Shouldn't freeze - ever.
Pressing 1 (or Z in the gamecube controller) shows scores
Power button now works (forgot about it :P)
Model bounding box fixes (no more dissapearing models)
    HBC-ready
Command line easy to manage - still needs a frontend for the end user, though.

    GX 0.01

Hardware graphics acceleration fully functional to glquake original specs.
A flaw is that you have to disconnect and reconnect the nunchuk when the game loads
If you have the software rendering installed on your sd card, please delete ID1/CONFIG.CFG before playing this version OR restore the default settings using the Options Menu. This is necessary because the Wiimote button mapping has changed.
Still has one bug, may hang after several levels played. Please save often and don't play dozens of levels in one sit. If any split-second hang occurs, it's sign that it may freeze completely soon. I recommend saving your progress and exiting to the loader, then reloading the game.
